This place is a hidden gem in the sunset. they have a good veg selection as well.
It's so funny to read comments on the glasses girl. We have been coming here for more than 20 years -- when it was owned by another owner, and knew the other waitress by name. When they changed owners more than 10 years ago, We continued to come here for takeout once every week because the food was actually pretty good and cheap. We thought the eye glass girl was unfriendly but tolerable, and i actually told this white guy who was feeling mistreated that she was like that to everyone.
About a month ago, I became a fan of hers. I mistakenly gave her ten more dollars and she shoved it back at me in a rude way with a grunt. I realized then, after more than 10 years that she probably is more decent than 70% of the business.
Recently she hung up on my wife when she was calling a takeout, and my wife was upset because she probably recognizes our voice. When we got there to order in person we saw the place was packed and she was handing the customers by herself, and she was just her normal self. Even my wife wasn't upset anymore. The waitress seems to be a nice person with heart but just have difficulty communicating.
Definitely recommend this place. The girl is pretty cool. I think the cook is probably her father, and he's ok as well although he swears at everyone in the kitchen, and at the wok! This is actually our default chinese restaurant when we just want quality and don't mind the service. We treat it as our family kitchen when we don't want to cook. Beef chow fun, Singapore fried noodles, fried tofu is better than anywhere (we always ask for two orders). Taro sausage fried rice is excellent. Silver fish is good too. Vegetarian snow peas with egg fried rice is my sons favorite. Surprisingly this is the only Chinese restaurant we don't tire of the food. -

Rude, rude, rude! Didn't even get as ordering. I stood there while the waitress shuffled around with her eyes glued to the floor. When I said "hello!", she snapped back "What?!". There were two people there waiting for takeout orders who warned me that she was "difficult". Who needs it?

Ordered an oyster pancake for $7.5. Only maybe "half an oyster" in the pancake and the rest were batter and bad quality oil
